On August 9, 2002, Ranger Kris Eggle was killed by a drug smuggler running from Mexican agents. Bonnie Eggle, mother of Kris Eggle, stated "This murderer was a hired assassin for a drug cartel in Sonoyta who had already been involved in quadruple murders the evening before." She pleads for United States citizens to drop the 'politically correct' notion that just innocent farm laborers are sneaking across the border.
